I just recently got back from a 10-day trip to Hawaii with my dad and brother.
It was one of my goals for the year to spend some time in nature with them, so I’m grateful that I was able to do it.
Even more importantly, despite the fact that I was extremely unplugged -
Everything with my businesses continued to move forward without me.
I was never worried once about whether or not something terrible was going to happen, because I have the right systems and processes in place to keep things going.
But if I’m being honest, my life as a founder didn’t used to be like this.
You’ve probably heard that saying about being an entrepreneur - “I quit working 8 hours a day for someone else so I could work 16 hours a day for myself.”
The reality is many founders and entrepreneurs leave a job that they hate and end up building another “job” that makes them equally as miserable.
And maybe it doesn’t start out that way, maybe the passion project is initially extremely fulfilling and life-giving...
But the surmounting pressures of keeping a business going become overwhelming.
This happened to me earlier on in my own founder's journey...and the impact it had on me was close to devastating.
That’s why I’m so passionate about helping founders become “autopreneurs” who automate the growth of their brand, audience, and revenue.
(We actually just had one of the founders in Founder OS automate 95% of his business for 5 weeks so he could travel and enjoy some summer activities with friends and family.)
And while there are a lot of things you can do to automate your growth, one of the most important steps starts with helping you reclaim your time.
Getting your time back each week gives you the ability to think more strategically and long-term - and also means you’ll have the space to actually automate your processes.
In today’s newsletter, I’m going to be sharing 6 core systems I use to lighten the load of running successful businesses.
These are some of the easiest to implement, and can start giving you your time back almost instantly.
New Free Workshop
In the process of building 3 brands to 7 figures - I've made a lot of mistakes and have had to overcome many barriers.
And after having spoken to 1,000s of other founders, I've come to realize that many founders have faced the exact same challenges and barriers.
But the cool thing is, if you can move past these barriers, your success is almost guaranteed.
On Thursday, August 24th, I'm hosting a workshop where I'll reveal 4 barriers keeping you from 10x-ing your revenue, and how you can overcome them.
Here's a bit of what I’ll be covering:
If you're tired of feeling "stuck" in your business, and are ready to break through to the next level - I hope you'll grab a spot to attend this training.

Now, back to 6 core systems I use to lighten the load of running successful businesses.
Routine is the bedrock of productivity.
Surprisingly, it can even fuel creativity.
Our brains thrive on patterns and predictability and in the creative world of being a founder…
Consistency is often the unsung hero behind success.
When you set a routine, you train your mind to anticipate specific tasks, leading to improved focus and decreased susceptibility to distractions.
Your time is your most valuable asset, you don’t want to waste it.
Below is my morning routine. And I stick to it even as I’m traveling:
In addition to having a routine, it’s important that you make a plan for each day.
Dale Carnegie said - “An hour of planning can save you 10 hours of doing.”
Each day should come with its own game plan, ideally crafted the afternoon or evening before when tasks and priorities are still fresh in your mind.
With this strategy, you can begin your mornings with clear intent, not wasting time having to make a lot of decisions.
While prioritization is essential for productivity…many founders still lose a lot of time executing the tasks on their to-do lists.
But just because your tasks are non-negotiable, doesn’t mean they have to be time-consuming.
Odds are, there are tools you could use to increase your daily efficiency by 50% or more.
I recommend that you take note of everything you do in a day that either:
Because there are probably tools that could help you with the task.
Here are some of the tools I use:
Content creation is one of THE most important things you should be doing as a founder.
But just because you need to be creating content to grow your brand, doesn’t mean you need to spend all day with a Google Doc open.
I’ve managed to systemize and streamline a content creation process that allows me to create up to 60 days' worth of content in as little as an hour.
(You can read more about it here.)
It all revolves around my Content Waterfall System, where I use a pillar piece of content as the core for a variety of other content.
I take time each month to plan out my content for the next 30-60 days, and then I have designated times over the month devoted to creation.
Ultimately you have to find a cadence that works best for you.
Writing is my true passion, so I work on Twitter threads every week.
Recording is not as life-giving to me, so I’ll batch-create all my video content across 2 days.
One day devoted to scripting, one day devoted to recording. This allows me to pump out anywhere from 30-60 days' worth of short-form video content in one go.
AI has become one of the most powerful time-saving tools I’ve ever used.
And personally I think if you’re not leveraging AI, you’re going to be left behind.
Not because I want you to outsource all your content creation to a robot…
Do that and it’s inevitable that your brand will slowly become more and more bland…
I’m talking about using AI as an enhancement to the creative process.
Here are some ways I leverage AI:
I actually have an exciting new free resource coming soon where I share some of my most-used prompts.
(Stay tuned for details…)
In the meantime, here’s one of the prompts I use to help with thread creation.
“Write an engaging thread about [topic] by [author] as if it were written by [voice].
Create a hook for the thread that is inspired by a tweet that has over 100,000 likes.
For each subsequent tweet in the thread have 1 headline tweet, 1 or 2 powerful sentences and then 3 bullet points, and conclude with one powerful sentence that is highly sharable.
Use the thread below as an example of how to write it:”
Just copy and paste that into ChatGPT and:
My mission here at Founder OS is to inspire 100,000,000 founders to automate their businesses and hit $5M a year in profit.
There’s no way I could accomplish that by myself.
Not to mention - one of the biggest ways to save time is to simply outsource time-consuming tasks.
Essential tasks still get done, but I’m able to focus my creative juices and energy on things that allow for massive leaps of growth.
Here are some of the positions I recommend you fill as soon as possible:
When you go to hire someone, make sure they have these qualities:
Then create your own Project Manager OS where all the tasks are stored, and hold a bi-weekly review meeting to ensure everyone’s on track.
The right people are self-directed and don’t require much managing, as long as you have planned sync-ups on a semi-regular basis.
And with each key hire, you’ll find your schedule frees up more and more.
Work and play aren’t two opposing forces - they’re two sides of the same coin.
Engaging in playful, rejuvenating activities is scientifically proven to bolster productivity and creativity.
It can also help reduce burnout, enhance your cognitive functions, and help improve your emotional well-being.
Too many founders are waiting until they “make it” to take time off and enjoy things they love.
This can actually HINDER your growth, not help it.
And it puts you at severe risk of burning yourself out...which means that all the effort you have been putting in might have been in vain.
If you find that you seem to be operating slower than normal, it might be time to go do something you love.
You’ll come back refreshed and energized, and find that you’re naturally more productive because you’re operating from a space of fullness.
There you have it, 6 of the core systems I use to lighten the load of running successful businesses.
If you're ready take your efficiency and productivity to the next level (like the founder I mentioned earlier who automated 95% of his tasks for 5 weeks)...
Then I'd highly encourage you to join Founder OS.
